History

Founded by agroforestry students to respond to rural challenges

GLR was founded in 2017 and legally registered in 2021.

Green Life Rwanda was founded in 2017 and legally registered in 2021. It was established by students from the former Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, ISAE Busogo, specializing in agroforestry. The founding motivation came from rural smallholder farmers' challenges, including drying streams, declining food security, and longer distances to collect firewood for fuel and fencing. GLR is based in Gisagara District, Southern Province, and intends to expand its activities nationwide.
