GLR Participated in Peer to Peer Landscape Learning Exchange in Rusizi District

Green for Life Rwanda (GLR) was proud to participate in the Peer-to-Peer Landscape Learning Exchange held in Rusizi District, Rwanda, from 21–25 September 2026, under the theme “From Planting to Thriving Trees: The Critical Role of Tree Growing, Monitoring, and Maintenance.” The five-day learning exchange brought together restoration champions and partners from the Lake Kivu & Rusizi (LKR) landscape to strengthen practical knowledge, share experiences, and explore solutions for achieving lasting restoration outcomes. The exchange focused on key areas including tree planting and maintenance, survival assessment, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV), polygon data collection using Flority and Greenhouse, Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR), Gender and Social Equity (GSE), restoration finance, communication, and community engagement. Through interactive discussions, peer-to-peer learning, practical demonstrations, and field-based sessions, participants explored how technical excellence, community ownership, inclusive participation, and reliable restoration data can contribute to stronger and more sustainable landscapes. For GLR, the exchange provided an important opportunity to learn from fellow restoration practitioners and strengthen approaches that can be applied in our own agroforestry and landscape restoration work.
